IT CAN ONLY GET BETTER!
Over the course of my work as member representing Anambra West in the State Assembly, I’ve help successive administration laid out a set of policies that will grow our middle-class and strengthen our economy in the long-term. One of the policies is ensuring that every child can compete outside his or her domain by recruiting an army of new teachers and making college affordable for anyone who wants to go. Imagine a future where our children are more motivated because they aren’t just learning on blackboards but on new whiteboards with digital touch screens; where every student in a classroom has a laptop at their desk; where they don’t just do book reports but design PowerPoint presentations; where they don’t just write papers but build websites; where research isn’t done just by taking a book out of the library but by emailing experts in the field; and where teachers are less a source of knowledge than a coach for how best to use it. By fostering innovation, we can help make sure every school in Anambra is a school of the future. That’s why I want to go to Abuja to fight for both our teachers, pupils and students. Nigeria has the resources but our leaders in Abuja failed to employ better strategies to harness our vase potentials.
Two, recognizing the key role agriculture plays in the Anambra State economy through its contributions of 70% of household income to rural dwellers. Through various bill passed by 5th State Assembly, State Government have accelerated agricultural modernization and the transformation of the rural economy. This was to quicken the pace towards full domestic food security, increased agricultural exports, improvement in farmer’s incomes, production of raw materials for local industries, generation of employment and alleviation of poverty. This was achieved through a number of productivity enhancing strategies including timely availability of needed farm inputs, opening up marketing opportunities for farmers, fishermen and providing credit support for crop and seed sourcing, preservation and processing. All this were possible due to warm relationship between the executive and the legislative arms of governments which I am its majority leader.
I want go to Abuja to help our working governor do more, I want to lead the fight for a better deal for Ndi-Anambra East and West Federal Constituency from front.
